In addition to concrete changes accomplished in specific issues areas, GBIO functions as a “university for public life”. Through involvement with GBIO, leaders learn the arts and skills of public life: relational meetings, house meetings, research actions, power analysis, public actions, negotiations, strategic thinking and evaluation.

Leadership

GBIO is a 501©3 organization with a Board of Directors that also acts as the Strategy Team for the organization. The board is composed of primary leaders from member organizations who meet specific leadership criteria. The Strategy Team is accountable to the Delegate Assembly - the democratic decision making body of GBIO which is comprised of three voting members from each member institution. The Delegate Assembly meets periodically throughout the year to ratify major organizational decisions and actions.
