GBIO relies heavily on its religious leaders and on a foundation of strong and meaningful interfaith relationships among those leaders. GBIO's Clergy Caucus gathers several times a year to strengthen these relationships across faith, denominational, geographical and ideological boundaries and to deepen understanding of one another's traditions, values and interests. Caucus agendas include time for shared contemplation and prayer and for studying text together. Meetings also offer opportunities for leadership training and reflection on our roles as public leaders. Clergy and religious leaders who participate are representative of GBIO's religious diversity, drawing leaders from African Methodist Episcopal, Baptist, Church of God, Church of the Nazarene, Episcopalian, Jewish (Reform, Conservative and Reconstructionist), Lutheran, Presbyterian, Roman Catholic, United Church of Christ, United Methodist and Muslim.
